On-Demand FEA for Elastomeric Seals & Mold Cavity Design
From mold cavity to assembled seal, SealSIM gives seal designers the cavity, lip geometry, radial load and assembly results they need, without the complexity of general-purpose FEA.

What is SealSIM?SealSIM is a cloud-based simulation platform built only for radial lip seals and hub/cassette seals. Upload your seal geometry, run a focused module, and download results for mold design and seal performance. You work in your browser. There is no software to install and no workstation to buy.
· Designed for seal and tooling engineers, not FEA specialists
· Lip geometry predicted to within microns
· Results in minutes to hours, not weeks of physical trials
· Pre-set, validated mesh and workflows
· Input checks before every run
· Outputs you can use directly in design and tooling
Characterize your compound from bench data. Upload uniaxial tensile curves (three or more specimens), the Shore A hardness and mold shrinkage measurements (three or more specimens). SealSIM builds the material model and adds the compound to your database. All other modules use it. Test procedures are available in Resources.
Predict the molded seal before you cut steel. Start from an existing cavity. SealSIM predicts the seal after it cools and shrinks. Use M1 to see how a new or modified compound changes the seal dimensions, or to verify a cavity that you redraw from M2 or M3 results.
Tune an existing cavity to your target. Upload the cavity and enter the main-lip interference or the final lip diameter you want. SealSIM adjusts the cavity until the seal meets the target with the compound you select. Dust and axial lips are tuned to their own targets. The report includes a design check of the heel and flex section.
Get the cavity from the seal you want. Upload the final seal profile. SealSIM gives the mold cavity that produces it after shrinkage. Fewer tooling re-cuts.
Size the garter spring and the radial load. For seals with a garter spring. Enter the sprung lip diameter you want and the shaft diameter. SealSIM finds the garter spring and the radial load on the shaft. You also get the spring characteristics (F5, F10, tension and stresses) for each wire size.
Press the seal into the bore and push the shaft through the lip. You get the unsprung and sprung radial load, the press-fit forces, the lip contact angles and contact pressure, and stress plots. Rubber OD, metal OD and half-metal/half-rubber OD seals are supported.
Unitize the cassette, then fit it into the bearing. SealSIM assembles the hub seal and the flinger into a cassette, then fits the cassette into the bearing or hub. You get the unitization force, the load and contact point of each radial, Aux and axial lip, the bend-radius stresses and stress plots.
Assembly Simulation follows the full assembly motion. You get the peak press-in and insertion forces, a lip fold check and an animation.
Seated State is faster compared to Assembly Simulation. It starts at the seated position and gives the final loads and stresses, with an estimated press-in force.
You select the method in the last check before the run.
Depending on the module, each run delivers:
· A results report (text and Word) with the key engineering numbers, in SI and Imperial units
· Lip diameters in the molded, sprung and assembled states
· Lip flank angles (oil side and air side) and R-value
· Radial load (M4, M5 and M7)
· CAD-ready DXF drawings, with one line or arc per curve
· Stress contour images
· An animation of the deformation (Assembly Simulation and M1–M4)
Results are ready to review, share or take into CAD.
1. Upload your 2D seal geometry (STEP or DXF). For M5 and M7, also upload the bore, shaft, flinger or bearing parts.
2. Assign the named profile groups in the guided interface.
3. Select a compound from your database, or create a new one with M0.
4. SealSIM checks your profile, labels and inputs, and tells you what to fix.
5. Run the module.
6. Download the results, drawings and animation.
The mesh is pre-set and validated. There is nothing to size or tune.
